This day in baseball: Nomo is an All Star

Leading the National League in strikeouts, Dodger right hand pitcher Hideo Nomo was selected for the All-Star Game on July 2, 1995.  This made Nomo the first player from Japan to receive the honor.

  1. robert whiting wrote three, maybe four books about baseball and japan. i can only praise the two i read…you gotta have wa and the meaning of ichiro. he weaves so much together; history, marketing, religion and what not and i think whiting is a reporter, so there’s lots of dirt uncovered as well.
