Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem.
can we add Jekyl and hide to the list? That 6th inning magic turned to a whipping yesterday; 8 runs allowed by brewers. ouch. maybe that’s when the sober self esteem kicks in.
Baseball really is poetry. I know there is plenty of scoffing in the world at the idea of baseball as an allegory for life, but I fully believe there is truth to it. Royals haven’t won a series from the Yankees since 1999. Hoping for that to change this weekend.
