“Tessie,” Dropkick Murphys

This song originally came out in 1904, and then the Dropkick Murphys brought the song back in 2004. The new version of “Tessie” featured backup vocals by Johnny Damon, Bronson Arroyo, and Lenny DiNardo and became the anthem of the Boston Red Sox.

  1. As I remember (not that I was there, mind you) the original Royal Rooters used this song to taunt Honus Wagner (“Honus, why do you hit so badly…”) Andrew McCutchen wants a crack at the Red Sox so he can see them try to pull that noise on him.

    1. That would be quite impressive if you were there to see it 😉 I imagine it would be quite the ego boost to knock a homer in another club’s ballpark while their fans attempt to rattle you with something like this.
