xkcd: Play-By-Play
Posted: October 24, 2015 Filed under: Pop culture | Tags: Baseball, comics, humor, sports, Xkcd 4 CommentsI haven’t been a regular follower of xkcd lately, but whenever I do make a point to catch up with the webcomic, I’m never disappointed. A friend of mine brought the strip below to my attention, and I thought it was too good not to share. I’m sure we have all had that experience while watching a ballgame of listening to some poor soul try to fumble through understanding the game, which can be simultaneously frustrating and endearing. For me, the comic below highlights the fact that, if you step back and think about it, baseball is a pretty funny game.
The best part of this comic is the post-script joke, which is viewed by hovering your mouse over the comic. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to figure out how to get it to work on this page, so I strongly encourage you to view the original at the xkcd website to catch sight of the additional commentary.
When you have time, find a copy of “Woman of the Year” and watch for Spencer Tracy explaining baseball to Katherine Hepburn. Her responses are wonderful.

I’ll look it up! Thanks, v!
I checked out the post-script as you suggested. “Thrower jail.” Brilliant!
