Carlton collected all but one of the 24 first-place votes to take National League honors. Carlton finished the 1980 season with a 24-9 record and a 2.34 ERA, and he also led the National League with 286 strikeouts.

Him winning three got me wondering about the longest time between winning Cy Young awards. Probably Clemens, but I looked up Carlton on b-ref and he won another cy young in 1982 which means he won four in a 10 year span. That’s amazing consistency.
Thanks for sharing that! Absolutely impressive consistency, holy smokes.
