As you know, I have been considering the possibility of changing the name of this blog. After reaching out to family, friends, and readers for ideas and giving it much thought of my own, I’ve decided that I am going to rechristen this site Archived Innings — a hint of baseball and a hint of history rolled into two words!
I am hoping to make the transition over the course of the next week. I am putting the final touches on the new banner and looking into how to make the change to the domain name. Hopefully things will all go smoothly! Stay tuned for this exciting new phase!
Alright, my loyal readers — it seems that “Baseball Attic” is growing increasingly popular as a site name. (Google it. I promise it’s true.) Which is a shame, because I really did think I was being original with this one.
That being the case, I want to start brainstorming a new name for my blog, but at the moment, I am drawing a blank. So I am reaching out for ideas! As my readers are obviously the most familiar with the content I put out, I figured you would be a great resource for name suggestions. If you’re like me, you make an effort to keep an eye on your health and overall well-being. (Well, most of the time. I do have my eat-all-the-junk-food-in-sight days, too.) When it comes to ballpark food, obviously, the healthiest (and cheapest) option is to not touch the stuff. But I’ve had those days when I’ve gone straight from work to the stadium with no chance to snag a healthy, pre-game meal. Fortunately, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center was good enough to create this infographic to help us make better choices when faced with this dilemma.
Not my favorite holiday, personally, but at least I have something else I love to celebrate!
I came across this tune on YouTube, which appears to be an original by this gentleman (if anyone knows otherwise, please feel free to let me know). I especially love the way he opens the song, particularly the phrase “as seen through the eyes of a young boy.” Because, ultimately, doesn’t baseball bring us all back to our childhoods?
