The San Diego Padres occupy the next spot in our lineup of “Talkin’ Baseball” songs.  On a personal note, while I root for the Royals today, my older brother pulls for the Padres, and so talk of Tony Gwynn, Fred McGriff, and Gary Sheffield permeate memories of my earliest introduction to Major League Baseball.  Backyard baseball meant emulating Gwynn’s swing in an effort to knock the ball over the fence.  Ah, nostalgia.

“Talkin’ Baseball” (Chicago White Sox version), by Terry Cashman

And now presenting Terry Cashman and White Sox baseball!  I’m not sure why, but I particularly enjoyed this one, and I’m not even a Sox fan.  It’s probably because the White Sox (both Chicago teams, really) have such an interesting history.

And now for the Phillies version of “Talkin’ Baseball.”  This was the only video I could find that featured this version of the song.  As a bonus for Phillies fans, it is coupled with “Goin’ Back to Philadelphia, PA,” by Bobby Burnett.  Enjoy!
