Grew up with Cubs always by my side. I think I may be the one guy who never was charmed by this guy. I would have preferred he stayed in St Louis.
Honestly, I never paid close enough attention to the Cubs while he was around to have an opinion one way or the other. I can’t imagine there’s no one else out there who didn’t care for him, but no doubt there are many who loved him.
I was like most people. I loved him. The Cubs game were broadcast as part of our cable package on WGN. Harry Caray turned me onto the Cubs.
