“Monument Park,” The Baseball Project

I seem to be on a theme of nostalgia lately, but I suppose there is nothing wrong with that, especially when it comes to baseball.  It’s also been awhile since I posted a song by The Baseball Project, so here’s to mending that oversight.  Enjoy!

  1. I hope you’ve had the chance to see The Baseball Project live … just wonderful!

I’m no Yankees fan, but I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Bernie Williams … and this song just brings me to tears every single time. Especially when it gets the part about how the Yankees just cut him loose (I believe the Yankees really did just call him on the phone to say, “Hey, thanks for everything. See ya.”)

Sigh. Baseball can be so heartless sometimes.

    1. I haven’t! I check their tour schedule from time to time, but it doesn’t seem they come to my neck of the woods too often. It may be a case where I’ll have to schedule a visit to a friend at a time when the Baseball Project just *happens* to be in their neighborhood 😉
