    As a rule, he’s right. But there are a few, John McGraw comes to mind, who made excellent managers. Yogi Berra won two pennants. Casey Stengel was a very good ballplayer. Bucky Harris and Lou Boudreau both won a World Series.

    Davey Johnson was also a pretty good ballplayer as well, ditto Hank Bauer.
