“Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly

This appears to be a clip from a movie sharing the same name as the song, Take Me Out to the Ball Game.  I’ve never seen the movie, but after watching this rendition of the song (not to mention the tap dancing!), I may have to seek out a copy.

This was one of 3 (I think) flicks Kelly and Sinatra did in the late 1940s. The others are “Anchors Aweigh” and “On the Town” (which seems to be the most famous). In “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” there’s also a fun little parody of the Tinkers to Evers to Chance poem (done with other names and as a song and dance number).

With those feet, Kelly would have been a hell of a middle infielder.
