He’s either out of this world good or the Rays jumped the gun. The Brewers signed Yelich to one of those forever contracts and he’s been very mediocre since.
That contract blows my mind. I heard a defense of the contract that it means the Rays will have him through his prime years, which makes sense, but I can’t help but think it’s such a risk. Franco could get injured, or as you pointed out, maybe just doesn’t perform as expected. But maybe I’m just overly pessimistic.
