This day in baseball: The “Hitless Wonders” streak begins

With a 3-0 victory over the Red Sox on August 2, 1906, the Chicago White Sox launched into a 19-game winning streak, which set an American League record.  They maintained this streak even in spite of having rock-bottom numbers in slugging.  Only the 1947 Yankees would match the 19-game win streak.
