I love George Brett’s Hall of Fame induction speech. His passion for baseball is apparent in every word and every story that he expresses. It’s no secret why he continues to be considered a hero in Kansas City.

It was a pleasure to watch his entire career.
I wish I was old enough to have paid attention to him while he was active. I know I would’ve loved it.
maybe batting average is no longer relevant in terms of fans drooling for.400, but I think Brett was the last to really flirt with it, keeping the course back in 1980 into mid September. There were others like Gwynn in 1994 and Helton in 2000 and maybe Carew one year but those guys didn’t penetrate so deep into the season like Brett.
