“Subway,” by Jim Nuzzo

This song made me smile as I listened to it.  I love the moments of history that he mentions, and you can feel the nostalgia oozing out of every beat.  There’s such a great, full sound to this song, and it reminds me of why I love this game so much.  This tune became especially popular during the 2000 World Series, when the Mets and the Yankees represented their respective leagues in a crosstown match-up.

  1. What a sweet song … but I gotta say, if you hadn’t mentioned that it was a song used during the 2000 World Series, I never would have guessed. I had to double-check and it was written in 1998 and yet it sounds like the theme song for a 1970s sitcom! Ooooh …now I’ve got that in my brain: A baseball sitcom from the 1970s, that could be something!

    1. There was the Bad News Bears TV Series, based on the wonderful trilogy of movies. I don’t remember if it was any good, but it aired in the late 70’s I think.
