that was one thing i had as an advantage – i couldn’t throw fast. unfortunately, i never learned how to throw a curve, slider, sinker, etc. either. if i were a kid today, i would put on an ad on craig’s list. “if you throw a knuckleball, please call 568-4523. i have a paper route. I’ll pay you to teach me.”
So many tools available to young players today to learn things. Unfortunately, those tools are available to everyone, which just increases the level of competition.
