Musta been because of the wind. I went to one game at Candlestick and it was kind of romantic in that you could see a mountain or more likely, it was just a big hill, but in a geology sort of way, it was pretty cool in the sense of thinking of a stadium being carved out of the earth and then those wind gusts and the water and of course, the hot dog wrappers blowing around the outfield.
Never saw it in person, but I remember seeing games on TV. Such a shame that ballparks these days mostly all get named after sponsors anymore. The days of original stadium names, like Candlestick, are fading fast.
