On April 1, 1989, This Week In Baseball aired the segment below announcing that Major League Baseball has legalized aluminum bats for one season. I have to say, they did a convincing job of it, and I would be curious to find out how many fans fell for this fabricated story.
Excellent! They did a funny one last night, a special news update that Albert Pujols was coming out of retirement to pass Ruth and that there were 8 or 9 teams interested. I fell for it and thought it was stupid of Pujols to go after a record, really selfish and all and then five minutes into the special update, they dropped the April Fools flag.
