It’s amazing how Cardinals fans always point to the Orta play at first base in Game 6 in 1985, but completely ignore the fact their team basically didn’t show up for Game 7. But it’s what I come to expect from the fans in St. Louis…
I have a friend from high school who was a Cards fan all through HS (to the annoyance of a LOT of folks in our school). The last time I saw him, however, I was surprised (and delighted) to learn he had converted to a Royals fan. It turns out, he got to college at Mizzou and got to meet other St. Louis fans. He was so annoyed by their arrogance and attitudes that he soon made the switch.
