The Wild Card round is now over, and it is on to the American League and National League Division Series. Congrats to the Phillies, Padres, Mariners, and Guardians on advancing! Here are how the schedules for the ALDS and NLDS are looking thus far. Unfortunately, times have only been set for Games 1 and 2 in the series. All times are Eastern.

  1. i had it mixed up. i thought the braves were playing the padres. too many teams I guess. in any case, i think it will be a great pitching matchup….1-2 punch of Nola and Wheeler against the Braves starters. Wouldn’t it be great if the Mariners beat the Astros!

    1. I am a fan of the concept of having the team with the best record in each league being named the pennant winner, then having each of those two teams face off in the World Series. Only if two teams are tied should there be an ALCS or NLCS. Much more straightforward that way. And yes! I am rooting for the Mariners in this postseason. It would be fun to see them notch their first-ever World Series.

  2. not a bad idea you have, sort of like it used to be which i liked better. there were four divisions, four division winners, an AL and NL championship, best of five with almost all the games played in the afternoon so we had to run home after school to catch the game. Go Mariners!
