On July 24, 1926, Lou Gehrig stole home for the second time that season. The feat was accomplished as part of a double steal, with Babe Ruth as the trailing runner. The Iron Horse would steal 102 bases during his career, with 15 of those thefts being of home plate.

An inspiring fact – these steals of home. I looked it up on baseball almanac and not surprising the all-time list is filled with old timers, but Carew comes in 14th place with 17. It’s such an exciting play.
Super exciting! And underutilized in my opinion. I know it’s a risky move, but it provides such a spark of excitement to the game.
